Job requirements

About You

We don’t expect you to know everything yet, that’s the whole point of an internship. What matters is that you're curious, motivated, and excited to learn. At TicketSwap, you’ll get the space and support to develop your skills, try things out, and grow as a developer. You’ll work with people who enjoy helping each other, and who want you to succeed. If you’re eager to learn and keen to contribute, we’d love to have you on board.

  • You’re currently pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field;

  • You’re interested in doing a “meewerk” internship, unfortunately we cannot offer a thesis internship for this role;

  • Some experience in backend development, preferably in PHP and relational databases (such as MySQL).

  • A genuine interest in backend development and building well tested, clean software;

  • You enjoy solving problems and learning new technologies;

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative and international environment;

  • Based in or near Amsterdam, and excited to work from our city-center office;

  • Available as an intern from February ‘26, for 32-40 hours a week for at least 5 months;

  • You have a portfolio website where you can showcase some of your side projects and/or school projects;

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

What you’ll get out of it

Depending on your ambition, this internship can be anything from hands-on experience in front-end development to a launchpad for your future engineering career.

It’s a paid, full-time internship with a monthly compensation of €500. We’re flexible with your schedule and happy to work around your classes and school assignments. We get that life’s busy.

By the end of your internship, you’ll have real-world experience with PHP (Symfony), GraphQL, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and modern web development practices, plus insight into how a global marketplace operates at scale. You’ll ship code, contribute to projects used by millions of fans, and learn from a talented team of engineers passionate about creating great digital experiences.

TicketSwap is looking for the best and motivated talent out there no matter your nationality, gender, sexual preference or religious beliefs. 🚀

Research shows that women and those in traditionally underrepresented groups tend to apply only if they check all the boxes. That’s a shame, as we want to build a diverse and inclusive team. If you know you’ve got what it takes but don’t quite meet every requirement for the role, we still encourage you to apply.

Apply now – we'll take a look and get back to you as soon as possible! 💥
