Technical Product Manager

“Product managers are like the conductor in an orchestra. The conductor never makes a sound but is responsible for making the orchestra as a whole sound awesome to deliver a great performance to the audience. Great conductors understand and engage with everyone in the orchestra, using the right vocabulary with each section, diplomatically moving everyone together toward the shared goal of a great performance.”

An awesome description from The Product Book. Did you read it? TicketSwap is on a journey to becoming the world’s favorite platform for fans to buy and sell tickets. On this journey, we are professionalizing our application and making sure the platform is as strong as possible. TicketSwap is built by real fans and that really defines our product. What you can expect from the work

  • Product ‘Manager’ or Product ‘Owner’, is there a difference? One thing is for sure, you own the product. That means the team and stakeholders can rely on your problem-solving skills and your product knowledge.
  • Together with the team, you define a clear product roadmap and goals. You make sure we set the right priorities and find balance between technical decisions and business decisions.
  • You are used to figuring things out yourself, and understand when to involve designers, developers, a data scientist or your colleagues from the growth team. You always keep pushing to understand why certain things are like they are or what the root cause of a problem is.
  • You understand how to plan technical projects and split things up in clever ways, so we ship step by step and learn from it quickly.
  • You lead day-to-day activities of the team. This include stand-up, sprint plannings, sprint reviews and retrospectives. You completely understand the makers vs. manager schedule and protects every team member’s time.
  • You work closely together with designers and developers, and you'll help them by writing clear user stories. You are able to translate user feedback to clever solutions within the product.
  • You make sure we validate our product ideas by tracking the right metrics together with our data scientists.
  • You proactively communicate to stakeholders and your colleagues. For example, you give product updates in our weekly stand-up in front of more than 70 colleagues in a way even the non-technical people can understand.
