About the job

As a Legal Counsel within TicketSwap you will report to the Head of Legal and you will primarily be the business’ go-to person for legal advice on- and support with various legal matters. You will pragmatically apply your relevant experience and expertise, taking our legal efforts to the next level. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely for several days a week.

Your responsibilities will cover the following aspects:

  • Advise the business on various initiatives; i.e. assess new product features’ compliance with relevant legislation, provide strategic advice and guidance on all kinds of commercial initiatives;
  • Ensure the company’s ongoing compliance with relevant local and international laws and regulations (e.g. Privacy legislation, Consumer laws, eCommerce compliance, Payment regulations, Local resale laws);
  • Advise the sales, marketing and growth & analytics teams on their contractual relationships with partners and suppliers, including negotiating partner agreements and supplier agreements;
  • Maintain and keep up-to-date our consumer-facing contracts (terms and conditions) as well as our partnerships contract templates;
  • Be the data privacy (GDPR) advocate in the organization - train and educate your colleagues about protecting personal data and manage internal and external inquiries in that respect;
  • Assist on a broad range of other legal matters, e.g. corporate housekeeping, transactional documentation, litigation management, IP management (mainly domains and trademarks), local regulatory compliance, or other projects as needed.

About you

  • Can speak Dutch fluently and your English is profound;

  • Got a Master’s degree in Dutch law and at least 3 years experience gained as an in-house Legal Counsel or in (international) private practice, preferably with experience in working for online marketplaces;
  • Knowledge and experience in IT law, ecommerce, data protection and privacy law is a plus;
  • A basic understanding of EU law and EU legislative process;
  • Able to quickly identify and explain risks to company stakeholders in a clear and engaging way, including those who are not familiar with legal concepts;
  • Solution oriented, proactive and able to work independently;
  • Persuasive, self-confident and self-reliant with a strong sense of judgment;
  • A strong developed business sense and an international mindset;
  • Curious by nature and want to get to the bottom of things.
