What you can expect from the work

You’ll join our Finance & Accounting team, reporting to the Head of Finance working with our wider Finance Team including Accounting, FP&A and Data. 

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll assist in our accounting processes, aid financial reporting initiatives, and help strengthen the foundation for our continued growth. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards;

• Ensuring the integrity of our general ledger and overseeing all journal entries, reconciliations, and closing procedures;

• Improving and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency;

• Work with external auditors during interim and year-end audits by preparing and organising key documentation;

• Help manage tax compliance, including VAT filings and regulatory reporting;

• Supporting system improvements and automation projects (e.g., enhancing the use of Exact Online and Moss);

• Mentoring an intern and providing oversight to ensure consistent high-quality output across the team;

• Oversee the accounting treatment and reporting of varying schedules such as fixed asset registers.

About you

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Economics, or a related field;

• You are hold a qualification such as ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent;

• You have 5+ years of relevant work experience;

• You have a solid understanding of Dutch GAAP (or IFRS) and tax regulations, and are comfortable navigating complex accounting matters;

• You are proficient with Exact Online (or a comparable accounting system) and have experience with expense management tools like Moss;

• Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets are a must; experience with reporting or consolidation tools is a plus;

• You are based in the Netherlands, are an EU resident, or have valid working rights here — we do not offer relocation support;

• You communicate fluently in English; Dutch is a plus;

• You’re detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with strong analytical skills and a hands-on mentality.
