Growing in all these different kinds of areas imposes a lot of complexity in terms of reporting, forecasting, legal, compliance and many other areas. What you can expect from the work

    You are the leader of our accounting & tax team, reporting directly to the CFO. Managing and enabling our growing team, whilst also partnering throughout the business, your responsibilities will be to drive forward finance projects whilst maintaining and improving data integrity, including (but not limited to):

  • Team leadership and mentorship (2 FTE and counting, in accounting, tax and financial controlling);
  • Coordinate ad hoc projects cross-departmentally, advising on decisions being made, best practice system utilisation and creating efficiencies;
  • Manage, coordinate and improve our periodic reporting - including our monthly management report, quarterly investor report etc.;
  • Manage the financial model in collaboration with the Business Controllers;
  • Drive the annual audit process, partnering with our external auditors, internal stakeholders;
  • Own the finance systems - including Stripe, Wise, Exact Online, Moss, LucaNet;
  • Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

About you

  • HBO education with an economic, business or accounting background, CA is preferred;
  • Your English is spot on, and being Dutch-native speaking is considered a plus;
  • You’re based in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam;
  • You have at least 7 years of working experience within finance, with 3+ years spent as a team lead;
  • Previous experience in a marketplace and/or scale-up environment is advantageous; 
  • You have several years of experience with financial controlling and auditing, and an excellent understanding of accounting, finance and commercial insights;
  • Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets and BI / Accounting software.
